NOTES FOR DOWNLOADING CHORAL SCORES FOR APRIL CONCERT
Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to download your own copy of the scores for the revised programme for the concert on 4th April. Please be assured that this is entirely legal as the works are all out of copyright. It may be helpful to print this page so youve got it to work from.
The three works to be downloaded are:
I was glad by Purcell (total pages 13)
The Little Organ Mass by Haydn (total pages 37) NOTE: IT IS LISTED AS "KLEINE ORGELMESSE"
The King Shall Rejoice (from the Coronation Anthems) by Handel (total pages 32)
The scores can be found at http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/ChoralWiki:2009_Anniversaries (there is a link to this site in the Links page). Go to this site and select the appropriate composer. For the first score set this is Henry Purcell (under the year 1659).
You will find I was glad in the list of sacred works. Click on the red PDF icon.
This will download the full work on to your computer.
Now all you have to do is to print it. Select the Print icon at the top of the page. The detailed print instruction may differ for more exotic computers but in my Windows software, the procedure is as follows.
In Print range select All
In the drop-down menu Subset select odd pages only.
In the box below check Reverse pages (This will give you the odd pages in the correct order for printing the even pages on the reverse side).
Print the odd numbered pages.
NOTE: Check at this point that you have the front page. My printer did not print it, I guess because it is not actually numbered so is not recognised as Page 1"). If this happens just select Page 1 in the Pages option under Print range and print this separately.
When you are sure you have your print of all the odd pages, insert the pages in your printer the correct way up to get the blank side ready to receive the even pages (in my printer this means placing them face up yours may be different!).
With the pages so inserted, repeat the print process BUT select even pages only AND remember to uncheck the Reverse pages box.
NOTE: The only minor glitch I have encountered is that my printer prints page 12 a second time on the blank final page; probably not a major problem and I am sure we can iron it out for the bigger download. It can probably be avoided by selecting the even page numbers (ie 2,4,6,8,10,12) individually.
In case of difficulties please feel free to call me on 01625 829353.
Good luck!
Richard
